pretty hues of peach...

windsor may or may not have basically sponsored my style posts throughout hawaii. they were so sweet and sent a few items for my trip so i had some fresh digs for the beach and sun!
so let's talk about these pants. best. pregnancy. pants. ever! loose, comfy, and light enough to wear all through summer. i think they are actually meant to be worn a little higher, but i loved how they looked with these shoes and just coming over the top slightly so i bagged them just a little. they would be adorable worn as a high waist as well though! i also can't love on this jacket enough, the print and feel is fantastic. it was perfect for one of those windy nights while we were sitting outside eating and it was just chilly enough that i wanted a jacket!
ok, enough blah, blah-ing about the outfit.
in other news- i may be dying my hair all dark again (which i haven't been in quite a while)...
i recently was attempting to do my ombré a little higher up around my face and i may have failed miserably. it's not terrible but not at all what i wanted, my hair basically just got a lighter brown and i'm not sure how i feel about it. i'll try and get a few photos of the "new-do" before i get rid of it for good, but it will either be seeing a hairstylist to have it done "right" or back to my bathroom with a kit for dark brown...

any thoughts or opinions?! .... my hair is now open for discussion!

dress it up or dress it down- dresses!

ok. another hawaii outfit. eventually i'll get to the end of these and be able to show off regular clothes, but i do love cute beach outfits so i can't really complain! plus, tis' the season- so all of you wondering what to wear to the beach, pool, or lake this year, here you go!
i fell in love with this dress when i saw it on the website and wanted so badly to take it to hawaii, so urban philosophy, being the fab company they are, shipped it out to me quick so i could pack it for my trip! it ended up being one of my favorite outfits and i ended up wearing it a couple of times! so here's how i wore this lovely dress from

day <------------------------------ to ----------------------------> night

obviously during the day we were just bumming around the pool and at the beach, so i used this lovely as a cover-up, but i got so many compliments! it is by far the best "flowy - day-dreamy" kind of dress i have found and the pattern is perfect and easy to wear anywhere! i can also tell this will be a definite go-to dress when my belly does finally pop and nothing fits anymore!
p.s. don't mind the no make-up, wild hair happening here- no getting ready to lay around by the pool!

for the "night" wear, i paired the dress with a comfy blazer to go out to dinner. i was initially planning to wear my heels as well, but realized comfort was slightly more important, and heels got a little tricky on the cobblestone roads we would walk around at night- so comfy sandals it was! now the lipstick is another story. it initially didn't look that dark inside, but after taking pictures i realized it was definitely not a hawaii look! it ended up coming off before we went anywhere, but it was an interesting change. i definitely liked the idea of something different and slightly darker, but this was a little too intense for me for a relaxed dinner. alas, it ended up in the pictures so...

20 weeks!

ok, taking a break from hawaii photos today for a quick "baby post". i was 20 weeks on sunday.
20 weeks!
i can't believe i'm halfway through this crazy, wonderful process. i'm sure the first half goes by quicker than the next half since i can still touch my toes just fine and do just about everything normal. the next part may get a little trickier :)
we went in for our 20 week appointment on monday with the big ultrasound, and baby girl was just that- big! she was huge! apparently about 9-10 inches long when she spreads out and about 12 ounces. i can't imagine how she's even fitting in there. i've been hearing it a lot but have been kind of start to feeling it myself- i'm still not looking quite pregnant and i was sure at this point i'd be a regular old pot-belly pig! however, the scale says differently! as of 20 weeks i've gained about 9-10 lbs, and i've definitely noticed it!
although, it doesn't seem like there's a ton of room in there, apparently she's happy as a little clam because she was movin' and groovin' like nobody's business during the ultrasound. she was practically having a dance party right in front of us and it was possibly one of the most amazing things i've ever witnessed. the ultrasounds may get more boring after you've had one or two, but for any of you first-time mother's i'm sure you can agree that it is by far one of the most amazing feelings to be able to see what happening in there. if the kicking wasn't enough to make me feel like she was more real than ever- seeing her was the icing on the cake. sorry, i could probably blab about it all day but i'll keep it at that.
oh, and hey, this is what i wore to my 20 week appt. :)

finally- actual photos of hawaii!

so i've been toying with you and showing you photos of partly beach and mostly me so far, but finally here are a few photos of our amazing trip, these may come in a couple of posts seeing that we came back with over 700 or so, including videos from the gopro's (which we haven't even started looking through yet!) but here are a few shots of the beautiful island that we were so lucky to spend all of last week on.
in other good news- i started feeling the first strong kicks from baby girl the first morning we woke up in hawaii. it was definitely harder and much more noticeable than the flutters and pokes i had felt before and they were even enough that hubs got to feel her kick a few times. it's honestly like nothing i have ever felt or experienced before and for the first time i truly connected and felt like there was a real human inside there. between the not being sick and not really showing (totally not complaining, i promise! it's been heaven for the most part) i haven't truly felt pregnant quite yet, but those first little kicks completely did me in! i am more in love with this little human than ever and after seeing hubs' face that he made when he felt her for the first time, i knew she was already a daddy's girl. 100%.
anywho, enough of the sappy baby stuff. here are some pictures! :)

we may or may not have gone back for these amazing giant snow cones. twice.
on day three we had heard from a local that iao valley was a definite must. similar to hana but a much shorter drive, we of course weren't going to miss out on the seven sacred pools, but figured iao valley sounded like a must either way! it was absolutely beautiful and between the fog, waterfalls, and all that amazing green mountainside, it was one of my favorite parts of the trip!
after iao valley we made a stop by a roadside market for some fresh fruit and a pina colada smoothie.
and we'll finish off this post with one of the many amazing sunsets we saw. ahhhh....

hawaii, sweet hawaii.

ahhh, more hawaii pictures! another outfit from a beach day. i'm still going through a lot of my photos so i figured you wouldn't hate another outfit post for today :)  we were staying at the marriott in maui and between their amazing pool/lounge area and the beach 10 feet away, we probably wouldn't have even had to leave the hotel to truly enjoy our vacation! it was absolutely gorgeous and hubs is always slightly embarrassed every time we go somewhere because i become a five year old again and act like it's the first time i've ever seen the beach or water. you hear lots of "oooh babe look at that!", "ahh, it's SO pretty!", "oh my gosh, look at the water!", "take a picture of this, or that, or all of it really....!" haha!
i will admit, i am slightly like a child in that sense and get so excited about the most simple things. i was definitely in awe of the beauty though and didn't want to take any of it for granted!
more to come soon! :)
don't mind the outline of my phone in my back pocket.
it was pretty windy this day and apparently a ton of flowers and somehow made it to the ocean so when the tide would come up, it would leave behind a trail of flowers. it was so pretty!
